EPILEPSY AWARENESS

Another big aspect of Breanna's life is her battle with epilepsy. Diagnosed at just 8 years old, she experienced absence seizures as well as tonic-clonic seizures. Although living with this disorder has been challenging, Breanna has taken numerous actions to spread epilepsy awareness, and she has made it a huge priority in her career. She has participated in the Epilepsy Foundation's Teens Speak Up! conference in Washington, DC as well as performed at an epilepsy themed gala, took part in the Walk to End Epilepsy, and hosted an open-mic themed fundraiser to raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Indiana. She was even awarded a scholarship from UCB Medical due to her efforts in advocating for epilepsy.

"I share my story in hopes that it will inspire others who face obstacles of their own," Breanna says, "I want people to know that nothing in the world can stop us from chasing our dreams."

In 2018, Breanna wrote her original song, "Fireproof" about overcoming her epilepsy and other everyday challenges people may face. She says, "I was in a dark place in my life, but instead of being down about my situation, I decided to flip a switch. I wanted to write a powerful anthem that can uplift myself and others." "Fireproof" is now available for streaming and downloading!
